Well, I think it would be three, but Gits' opinion not withstanding, you're probably right that we should cancel. That way both new characters can be introduced at the same time, and the hydra battle won't be shorthanded. Sorry for the really late notice.

Ok scratch that, thesis is done but I'm swamped with all the other crap I've been ignoring in the meantime. I don't think I'll be able to make it tonight, sorry.

Reminder: Spring Break so no game tomorrow.

Interest/Attendance has been low, so do you lot want to pick up after the break or can it in favour of doing other things?

Well, I'll be around.  Who else will be, seems indeterminate at this moment.

Good news and bad news.  Both have the same root.  Bad news, game killed by player defection to another game  ;).  Good news, a 5th Ed D&D game is starting up next week at the same time.

I am running a 5th ed game and am glad someone else is also doing so.  5th ed has a DM shortage!

Anyhow, for players coming over from 3rd edition, you will find less modifiers and in general lower numbers.  Luckily, the monsters also have lower numbers, so it all works out!

In place of most modifiers you get something called "advantage", where you roll 2d20 and pick the better one.  You try to put the other guy into a situation where they have "disadvantage", where (you guessed it!) they roll 2d20 and pick the worse one.  Advantage doesn't stack with itself, neither does disadvantage, and if you somehow have both advantage (however many times) and disadvantage (however many times) it call cancels out and you are back to rolling a single d20.

In addition to race and class, you also choose your background.  This will give you a few more skills, but also a lot of roleplay stuff (bonds, flaws, etc.) that mechanically can grant you inspiration, and inspiration can be spent to give you . . . advantage!

Anyhow, my players seems to enjoy the game I am running.  I hope that you all have fun with your game too.

The rules (and a few class/race/background options) are available legally and for free here:

Game MASter that is comPLETEly unfair!
