What about DC Deckbuilding? I've played it a few times and so has Jeffrey, and we agree that it's a fun time. I know we already have a few deckbuilding games, but this is one is more accessible to new players without giving up too much in the way of gameplay. Plus, being based on an extremely popular fictional universe gives it more shelf appeal than Dominion or Ascension.

The game plays a lot like Ascension, but each player plays as a different Justice League member, giving them different advantages and shaping their playstyle. There are also Archvillains, which are worth lots of VP and do bad stuff when they enter or leave play. There is also a Lord of the Rings game that has similar mechanics, which is a bit more hardcore.

Has anyone played the new Pathfinder card game?  I ignored it at first because I thought it was just GM cards for the adventure path, but evidently it is a spin-off card game of its own.  Initial impression from reading about it is that it's kind of like Descent, but a card game instead of a board game?

umm..  its pretty much playing a pen and paper rpg in deck builder format.  If I was to buy a deck builder (meaning i own none.)  This would probably be as of this date "the best deck builder"

You have your location deck, your "hero deck" you kill stuff, get loot.  and you can "save/level" up your guy to do other adventures as they are printed / acquired.

everyone i ran into at pax was saying "i wasnt sure.   i played it is sliced bread"    and I played it.  i can say its fun

SPACE CADETS ROLL DICE AS FAST AS YOU CAN

So that Pathfinder card game sounds pretty neat.  Should buy.

Legends of Andor was a lot of fun.  It is a 2 - 4 player cooperative board game (fantasy based heroes save the realm!) with multiple scenarios.
