SO on saturday I went to a release event at Connections games on south granville. After opening my packs it became quite clear that this was one of the absolute worst pools I have ever had for a sealed event. None of my colours had more than 10 playables. I took a lok at my fixing and this is what I found Akoum Refuge, Graypelt Refuge, Lavaclaw reaches, Celestial collonade, Marsh Flats, Khalni gem and a Kahlni heart expedition. I decided I had enough fixing to run a 5 colour deck playing all my best allies and other cards that helped bring it all together.

Here is the list I played

1x Disfigure
1x Exploration Map
2x Akoum Battlesinger
1X Bojuka Brigand
1X Oran- reif Survivalist
2X Treasure Hunt
1 Khalni Heart expedition
2x Exploration
1X Tajuru Archer
2x tideforce elemental
1 vaswood animist
1x stonework puma
1x mold shambler
2x join the ranks
1 khalni jem
1 territorial behemoth
1x nemisis trap
4 forest
3x island
2x swamp
1 plains
1 mountain
1 dread statuary
1x akoum refuge
1x graypelt refuge
1x halimar depths
1x khalni garden
1x laval claw reaches
1x celestial collonade
1x marshflats

After putting the deck together it was clear how I was going to win most games... and that was attacking with lands. A lot of my games came down to just getting there with large lands and a few small guys. Although teritorial behemoth made for some quick beats.
all in all it was a very fun deck to play and I only had trouble with mana in one game. The mana base for this deck felt like quite the masterpiece.

I was lucky to open a foil Iona in the pool. In my prize packs I opened a a french raging ravine. I was pretty happy with that.

I am finding that Halimar depths is Insane good with fetch lands and treasure hunt. Treasure hunt is pretty good in limited but isn't quite as good when you haven't built around it. Feel free to share your own terrible pools/ decks that came out with a good result.

The matchup between Kithkin and Five colour control is like David vs. Goliath and David forgot his sling.

I think it was 2-1, 2-0, 0-2, 2-0.

Most games were pretty similar in that I would pe playing a lot of allies and the red allie last and beat for a bunch while taking some damage here an their and than let my opponent open himself up for a leathal alpha from my lands as well. There were a few where territorial baloth did it all but the allies did a lot of the heavy lifting. I did get my lavaclaw reaches up to a 6/2 in one attack for the win. My opponent decided he needed to attack me to race and left no one home and was at 12 life and I "only" had 6 power on board plus a lot of lands one being lava claw reaches the other being dread statute.
