It's completely unofficial, and it's possible(likely?) that Best Buy is full of shit; However this image has appeared on Twitter, and has been confirmed by other sources.  Whether it actually represents a true release date is another story, but without any sort of official confirmation, and without the Beta even being announced, I am highly skeptical:

Best Buy Online list the release date as March 1st, 2010.  Although they also apparently listed it as Dec. 3rd, 2008 at one point.

Every store estimates the release date. This one happens to be quite inaccurate. It's funny that the poor wording has given people a glimmer of hope; they deserve to get a swarm of angry customers for that blunder. Other than that, it's no different from what we've been seeing for the past year-and-a-half. However, they are likely getting close to beta, so perhaps we can hope for that in March.

I predict the release date will be near the end of 2010.

Futureshop flyers are now advertising SC2, although no release date is given besides 2010.

SC2 closed beta slated for release this month. Beta forums are up as of today.

It looks like they're setting it up for public use in the very near future. I'll expect a beta invitation within the next couple of days, unless Blizzard makes a terrible, terrible mistake.

It seems like they've delayed my beta invitation. I guess they're giving the noobs a head start. I'm sure it's coming tomorrow.

I went to my battle.net account: http://us.battle.net/?rhtml=y.
Then I went to my beta profile settings, checked the "StarCraft universe" box, and downloaded and ran the application to submit my system specifications.

Supposedly they are still sending out invitations to people who have done this, so I haven't given up hope yet. =)

no mac invites in the first round of invitations... I wonder if I should resubmit my system specs through bootcamp.
